Join us for a free, behind-the-scenes look at our newest exhibition, M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations, plus US Chess: 80 Years—Promoting the Royal Game in America. Curators Shannon Bailey and Emily Allred will also be available following the tour during complimentary lunch.
M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations examines the mind-bending, mathematical, and metamorphic works of world-famous graphic artist M.C. Escher. The exhibit features an extensive collection of drawings, mezzotints, lithographs, and woodcuts, which blend and blur constructs inspired by impossible worlds, the intricacies of nature, and the infinity of chess.
US Chess: 80 Years—Promoting the Royal Game in America celebrates the official governing body of American chess and its many accomplishments since its 1939 founding. The exhibition uses audio, video, photographs, and never-before-exhibited artifacts that illustrate US Chess’s mission to empower people, enrich lives, and enhance communities through chess.
